Elina lost her second round match to the Belarusian Arina Sabalenka: 4-6 6-2 1-6.
Elina had a 4-2 lead in the opening set but Sabalenka managed to win four games in a row. Elina played much better in the second set whereas she managed to win two break-points, save all three break-points on her own serve and turn the match into the decisive. But that time Sabalenka saved two break-points and won two other games on Elina’s serve. The first match between Svitolina and Sabalenka had lasted for an hour and fifty-one minutes.
Next week Elina will play at the Premier Mandatory tournament in Beijing.
