Elina defeated the Slovakian Viktoria Kuzmova in the second round of the Grand Slam tournament in Paris: 6-3 6-4.
The match had lasted for 80 minutes whereas Elina served three aces, made two double faults and won four break-points out of ten. As for Kuzmova, she managed to win two break-points on Elina’s serve in the second set.

“Viktoria played very aggressively and consistently during the whole match. Even though she is still a relatively young player, her level of play is quite high. I was doing my best to show the tennis I wanted. I did not serve well today and she played quite confidently during my service games. I am really glad that I managed to win in two sets”, said Elina during the press conference.

Elina’s opponent in the third round is the seed No. 31 Mihaela Buzarnescu. The Romanian has already defeated Vania King and Rebecca Peterson in the previous rounds.
