Elina Svitolina spent a bit more than an hour to seal her second round victory at the WTA Premier tournament in Brisbane. This time she defeated the Croatian World No. 44 Anna Konjuh: 6-3 6-1. Elina managed to serve three aces, made one double fault and won five out of eleven break-points on her opponent’s serve. It was the third match between the players and the second victory for Elina.
Elina’s opponent in the quarterfinal is the British Johanna Konta, World No. 9. The players have already met twice and Elina defeated the British both times. Moreover, Svitolina and Konta paired in doubles but lost in the first round of Brisbane International.
