It took just over an hour for Elina to win the final clash against Dane Caroline Wozniacki at the Premier 5-level event in Toronto. In the first set both players made two breaks priot to 4-all in the first set.

After that Elina clinched a love-break and from the ninth game in the opening set until the finish didn't drop a game. 6-4 6-0, with this result Elina Svitolina wins her fifth final of the season and becomes the first tennis player to win three Premier 5 tournaments in a row in a single season.

En route to the title Elina beat Daria Kasatkina of Russia and four top-10 players in a row: Venus Williams (USA), Garbine Muguruza (Spain), Simona Halep (Romania) and Caroline Wozniacki (Denmark). This new week Elina will start as No. 4 on the WTA rankings (her career-high & a national record for Ukraine).

"Thanks everyone for the excellent support throughout the season," Elina said during the award ceremony. "This is a special title for me and I'm very happy I won here. Congratulations to Caroline on the excellent week. Thanks to my team who helped me to be ready for each day on such a difficult week as this one was in Toronto. I was very tired. Without you, I would probably win this title.

Also thanks to all the sponsors, this is a huge tournament and I enjoyed every moment of staying here. Thanks to all the Ukrainians for their support. It's incredible how many Ukrainian flags are here. Yes, thanks again to all the fans. Right now I'm very, very happy. "
