- I feel a bit tired, it was a tricky match with a slow start from me, when I made too many unforced errors, - Elina said in her on-court interview. - So I just tried to play and put the ball in the court, I started to play more aggressive as the match progresed and even finished it with a winner. How did I manage to comeback in the second set? Mentally I was ready for a decider, so I tried to not to focus on the score, just relax and play tennis. Of course, I had an unbelievable start of the season, my clay season was awesome, but this is my first tournament after Wimbledon. Clearly I need more time to come back on tour, to play my game and show my best tennis again.

The winner of today's match between Venus Williams and Katerina Siniakova will meet Elina Svitolina in the third round in Toronto on Thursday.
