The last couple of days have been very busy for Elina. Enjoying her highest seeding ever at a Grand Slam event – she is the fourth seed, it is not surprising that there are lots of media people keen to talk to her.

On Thursday night she attended the WTA Party at the fashionable Kensington Roof Gardens. Wearing a silver dress, from favourite designer Poustovit Elina joined other players, sports and entertainment stars at the glittering annual event, which takes place, just a few days before the start of The Championships.

On Friday Elina had a light tennis practice combined with some gentle fitness work. The practice courts of Aorangi Park, located within the All England Club, adjacent to No.1 Court are perfect for the players to experience the feel of the famous grass of SW19.

Following her practice, Elina sat down with some top British journalists to talk about her Wimbledon preparations. They were particularly interested in Elina’s British coach Andrew Bettles and fitness coach Oliver Fawls.

Saturday is designated media day at Wimbledon, when journalists and broadcasters can talk to the players before play gets underway on Monday. Elina’s first round match on Monday is against Ashleigh Barty, so no wonder former player and now broadcaster, Australian Todd Woodbridge was among the first to talk to her.

Elina was also invited onto the roof of Wimbledon’s Broadcast Centre for a TV interview. Against the backdrop of Wimbledon’s iconic Centre Court Elina was asked about the amazing year she has had so far, the four WTA titles that she has won this year.

Elina’s final interview of the day was in the basement of the media centre, with ESPN, where under the spotlight of the TV camera she was asked about her grasscourt preparations.

Now finished with her pre tournament media duties, Elina will make the final preparations to her game.
Play gets underway on Monday. Elina’s first round opponent Ashleigh Barty, was a finalist on the grass at the Aegon Classic in Birmingham last week and so Elina knows it will be a tough match.

“I will do my best to prepare and do everything in my power to be ready,’” Elina said, “It can be very surprising you never know with grass; it is a very tricky surface".
