Elina's semifinal match against Garbine Muguruza of Spain lasted only 22 minutes. At 4-1 up for Elina the Spaniard decided to withdraw due neck injury. 

"I'm very happy that I am in the final," Elina said during her on-court interview. - Muguruza - is the defending champion of the upcoming French Open, so it's a tough situation for her right now. I'm still a little shocked. I wish her to recover soon. 

In the match for the main prize in Rome, Elina will compete with Romanian Simone Halep, ranked No. 4 in WTA. It will be the third meeting between the two with Halep leading 2-0 in a head-to-head record. 

With making it into the finals Elina Svitolina will rise to the top spot in the WTA Porsche Race and will set a new personal record in the WTA rankings next week. This season Elina has aready won tournaments in Taipei, Dubai and, Istanbul.
