After her second round defeat at the WTA Premier Mandatory-level event by American Bethanie Mattek-Sands Elina takes a break to prepare for the clay season. 

She will return to the tour at the end of April for the weekend's Fed Cup tie to help the Ukrainian national team in the World Group play-off against Germany. The tie for the spot in the World Group in 2017 will take place on an indoor clay court in Stuttgart.

Later on Elina Svitolina will compete at the WTA International tournament in Istanbul, WTA Premier Mandatory-level event in Madrid and WTA Premier 5-level tournament in Rome, and will finish the clay court swing at the second Grand Slam tournament of the season - Roland Garros in Paris. 

This year Elina Svitolina has already played seven WTA tournaments and won two titles (in Taipei and Dubai). Elina, currently ranked No. 10 in the WTA rankings, scored 20 wins in 25 matches this season.
